In deze masterclass stellen we je rol als fotograaf in vraag. We focussen op fotoprojecten waarin niet alleen de maker, maar ook het onderwerp een stem krijgt en onderzoeken verschillende manieren om dat verhaal te vertellen.

Voor Vincen Beeckman (1973, Brussel) gaat fotografie over ontmoeting, uitwisseling en vertrouwen. Over nemen en terug geven. Hij schakelt het medium in voor sociale interactie, waarbij de veelal eenzijdige relatie tussen fotograaf en onderwerp resoluut aan de kant wordt gezet. Fotografie om levens en verhalen te valideren, in het bijzonder die van gemarginaliseerde en kwetsbare individuen.

De deadline om aan te melden is 20 juni. Betalen kan in schijven en er is korting voor zelfstandigen, studenten en recent afgestudeerde fotografen.

In this masterclass we will question the role you take on as a photographer. We will focus on photo projects in which not only the maker, but also the subject is given a voice and will explore different ways to tell that story.

For Vincen Beeckman (1973, Brussels) photography is about encounter, exchange and trust. About taking away and giving back. He puts the medium into play to facilitate social interaction, resolutely putting aside the often one-sided relationship between photographer and subject. Photography as a way to validate lives and stories, especially those of marginalised and vulnerable individuals.

You can apply until June 20th. Payment can be made in instalments and there is a discount for self-employed photographers, students and recently graduated photographers.
